Flanders Classics and Corporate Cycling Challenge are joining forces
Starting in 2025, Flanders Classics will partner with the Corporate Cycling Challenge. The organizer of the Tour of Flanders will support cycling events where companies compete against each other in a sporty teambuilding activity, with one company earning the title of unofficial Belgian corporate cycling champion.
The Corporate Cycling Challenge was founded in 2018 as a business event where companies compete in a fun and athletic environment with a focus on teamwork.
Founder Bart Roels explains: “Working in a demanding professional environment and being a passionate cyclist myself, I missed a corporate cycling event where colleagues could escape the daily work environment while pursuing a common goal together. By combining this with a strong focus on networking, branding, and content, we created a unique and popular cycling concept. Ultimately, the company that wins our final series in Ostend will be crowned the unofficial Belgian corporate champion.”
Companies can register a team of 3 to 5 riders to participate in a challenge that consists of three different disciplines: an 8 km team time trial, a 1 km team sprint, and a 45 km criterium on a closed circuit.
From 2025 onwards, Flanders Classics will join the project. The organizer of spring races, including the Tour of Flanders, this year’s European Road Cycling Championships in Limburg, the Telenet Superprestige, the UCI Cyclocross World Cup license, and Heathland Gravel – an official Unbound Gravel qualifier – is thus expanding its business offerings for companies in collaboration with the Corporate Cycling Challenge.
Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics, states: "Our company has grown tremendously since its founding in 2010. What began with six spring classics has evolved into a calendar of around 70 events annually. This highlights our ‘Set The Pace’ mentality. We find it important to challenge ourselves and the sport, respecting the traditions and values inherent to cycling while setting the tempo in our sector. This is a new step in the story of Flanders Classics, with a focus on the business audience. The Corporate Cycling Challenge is a particularly interesting concept that appeals to many companies. It is only logical that, as a cycling company, we eagerly contribute to building on what Bart has created with this fantastic project.”
Bart Roels adds: “I am extremely proud to partner with Flanders Classics. This collaboration will further grow the event and improve the standards, quality, and visibility of the Corporate Cycling Challenge.”
